Fantasia Performs in Tight Sequin Catsuit During “American Idol” Finale

Fantasia Barrino shocked viewers — and not in a good way — when she hit the stage Wednesday night (May 23) to perform on “American Idol” during the show’s finale.

Dressed in a really tight black sequin catsuit — with a split down both sides of her legs that showed off her post-baby body (and not in a good way) — the R&B songstress sang a gospel-infused version of Elton John’s “Take Me to the Pilot” with former Idol finalist Joshua Ledet, who is often called the “male version of Fantasia” and considers the singer to be the biggest inspiration in his life. But back to that catsuit…

While Fantasia might have thought her outfit was “cute” … most viewers did not. And they made sure to let it be known via Twitter, with one user calling the outfit the “worst article of clothing anyone has ever worn.” (Ouch!)

    Is it just me or did she also have something done to her face???   Her face looked better, but that outfit was HORRIBLE!!  With thunder thighs like that, and the gawd-awful tattoos all over her thighs, it just was CHEAP, TACKY and GHETTO…. !

    Absolutely AWFUL!  It was a toss up between her outfit and that God awful SCREECHING!  No one can possibly call that singing.  That whole segment was painful to watch.  What’s with all these thunder thighs and big butt’s in cat suits or tights lately, even J LO didn’t do herself any favors in her skin tight black pants or the sparkly tights …… don’t these gals own a mirror?!!!

    I think that Joshua Ledet and Fantasia did a very energizing performance. The catsuit is just another earthly desire for clothes. Her raiment was alright but their performance was great!!!

    A hot friggin mess! her voice is still amazing. The sista packed on some pounds Dammmnnn!  Im a beautiful full figured woman and have always admired the ladies big or small, but it’s been a while since I last saw Fantasia yes, she had a baby but so did Beyonce She worked those baby pounds off and looks as hot as ever…Who the hell told  Fantasia she could wear that get up at her present size.. I guess weight gain does not look good on everyone..
