Before we get into what went down with this Waka Flocka situation let’s get one thing clear: Waka Flocka Flame is NOT, and we repeat, NOT dead! We’re not sure where that rumor came from but we received a couple of e-mails with people asking us if he died because they had heard he did, which goes to show you can’t believe EVERYTHING you hear … unless you’re getting it from the horse’s mouth.

Flocka called in to Hot 107.9 in Atlanta earlier today and told the Durrty Boyz that he wasn’t shot Tuesday (Jan 19) in a random robbery. Somebody was really out to get him!

“Somebody was sent to kill me,” the rapper told the Durrty Boyz of his hometown radio station Hot 107.9.

In the brief interview, Waka (real name: Juaquin Malphurs) recalled the violent incident that happened in an Atlanta carwash. The would-be killer got gun shy, he said, and claimed that he was shot when he tried to disarm the assailant. That account differs slightly from police reports of what happened.

“He was so scared, he let me get out the car and grab what I tried to get from him,” Flocka said. “He hit me in my arm and my whole right side went out. Trust me, he could have did his job if he wasn’t scared. That’s the word out to him and his people.

“I’m straight though, it just broke one of my ribs. Cut my arm,” the MC said of his injuries. “I’m straight, though. I’ll back out there. … Y’all can’t stop me.” Flocka also said he’s been watching his latest video “O Let’s Do It” from his hospital bed.

A spokesoman for the Fulton County police confirmed that Waka was sitting in his car at the Bubble Bath Express car wash in Atlanta Tuesday when a gun toting man came up to him demanding his Jewelry. As Flocka took off his jewelry the man shot him and ran. The guy, who still hasn’t been found, got away with the So Icey Entertainment rapper’s necklace and bracelet. Police have no suspect as of yet.

Waka is currently recuperating at an area hospital and is apparently recovering from a gunshot wound to the lung.
