Chris Brown unsurprisingly pleaded “not guilty” to two felony counts – assault and making criminal threats against his girlfriend Rihanna – Monday at his arraignment in a Los Angeles courtroom. He arrived at Los Angeles Superior Court Monday afternoon about thirty minutes late, dressed in all black with a somber look on his face. The 19-year-old singer was surrounded by security, a few close family members and his lawyer, Mark Geragos, as he entered the court house for his arraignment, which sources say lasted about 20 minutes.

As expected, Rihanna was not present, and at a press conference outside of the court house, her lawyer Donald Etra confirmed that the not guilty plea was “fully expected” and he said his client “will do everything that the law requires here to do,” which means that if she is subpoenaed to testify in court, she will absolutely do it.
At the arraignment, Chris replied “not guilty” in a barely audible tone when asked what his plea was on the two felony charges against him. He also waived his right to a speedy preliminary hearing within 10 days. His lawyers are currently due back in court on April 29th, though he is not required nor expected to be there.

He’s just like the man who beat his mother. I thought Chris would be different and stand up for what he did wrong but he’s a coward. I guess it was Capser who beat the shit out of Rihanna then since it wasn’t Chris.

He’s been appearing to court dates and doing what he has to so people need to quit trying to act like their the judge because you definitely weren’t there when all of this went down. If her dumb ass was truly a victim, she would be in court ready to testify against him and have a protection order against him, but she has NOT showed her face in court ONCE and I find it ironic that she had time to fly all the way to Barbados and be at home the day of his arraignment then she just conveniently flew back to the states a few days later. She’ll be back to partying tomorrow to keep some relevancy. SMH This whole thing has been one-sided. That includes Tyra, Oprah, and the majority of blog sites [including this one, which is why I stopped coming to this site for about a month]. It’s been nothing but hearsay and I think it’s only fair that we hear both sides. Everybody and their damn auntie has stood up to speak on that girl’s behalf and I STILL don’t understand that, but whatever. SMH

Steph, learn how to type in proper English. Jai, you’re biased because you obviously don’t like Rihanna and no one is “acting” like the judge. I’m simply making an observation of his character.
It doesn’t matter that Chris has been showing up to court, he should take responsibility for what he did and move on.
Look at this from Joyce’s perspective. When Brown’s step dad was abusing her and Chris called him out in public, he openly denied it saying he didn’t do it and that he never put his hands on her. There was backlash from his family and neighbors stepped up saying that he lied. None of you were around in his childhood, yet you said “oh he is lying, why did he wait until now, Chris wouldn’t lie…yeah his dad did it..blah blah blah.” Imagine how upsetting that must have been for Chris hearing the man who allegedly abused his mother in front of his face lie to America like that.
This is no different. How do you think Rihanna and her family feels knowing that their daughter was abused and the guy who possibly did it is pleading “not guilty”. If you had a daughter and something like this happened you’d be upset as a parent. If it wasn’t Chris, then who was it?
I don’t want him to go to jail, but he needs to take responsibility for his actions, face the court and just move on with his life.

We don’t know what really happen. I feel like this if you woman enough to pass the first hit be woman enought to take the hit back Rihanna. She not all sweet like people trying to make her out to be. With her none sing self. Chris is very talent. He will get back on top so everybody take your hits now so he can come back on top.
