“If Justin hadn’t come out and killed the game, I can’t say that my album, singles and videos would be on the same level that they’re on,†he says. “We push each other. I look at me and Justin like Prince and Michael Jackson in their day.â€

RUSSELL SIMMONS LAUNCHING FASHION LINE FOR OVER 25 CROWD »
Russell Simmons is kicking off this year’s Fall fashion season with Russell Simmons Argyle Culture, a new menswear collection aimed at the over-25 crowd. The collection combines urban aesthetics with professional and preppy attires and is smaller in fit.
“Were going to infuse fashion into Argyle Culture through color, texture and subtle details,” said Kevin Saer, VP of design. “We’re taking houndstooth and herringbone, and identifying with argyle. We’re actually weaving specific fabrics like argyle herringbone and argyle houndstooth. There are a huge group of consumers who are not young men any longer and don’t shop in the young men’s space,” adds Simmons, “but, still want to remain part of the urban lifestyle.”
Among other pieces, Argyle Culture features a classic five-pocket denim silhouette recreated through suiting materials like wool, cotton blends and pinstripes. Simmons also founded urban fashion line Phat Farm in 1992. [ BILLBOARD.BIZ ]

When Screamfest ’07 hit NYC last week (Wednesday August 22 2007) they didn’t hold anything back! In addition to the headliners and supporting acts (I’m sure you know who they are by now), you had the likes of 50 Cent, Kanye West, and Jay-Z sharing the same stage! Yeah, you read it correctly … Kanye West and 50 Cent. A HISTORIC MOMENT in Hip-Hop indeed! Diddy, Da Brat, Wyclef Jean, and Yung Berg showed up too. I wish I could’ve been there!
SIDENOTE: I wonder how many “damn you’re late” comments I’m going to get! I still have love for y’all though! Haha.

Contemporary R&B musician and Songwriter Emily King reigns on East Side Story, her debut album set to release August 28th of next week. With a broad gain of musical influences, ranging from The Beatles, Nas and Michael Jackson, King has always had a deep-routed passion and love for music; using it as her emotional comforter. At the age of sixteen she got her GED, starting composing, and quickly immersed herself towards her goal.
Emily King then reached out to Chucky Thompson, a music producer, he was the member of Bad Boy Entertainment’s famed Hitman studio team. Thompson signed King to the production company, eventually landing her a major recording contract with J Records, they then began searching for the right sound to capture the songstress’ eclectic tastes and styles. King insists that she isn’t trying fit into anyone’s box, “I’m just finding my own culture within myself,” she explains.
I believe that there is great true to that statement, because conceptually, this album is stark brilliance! It almost brings you back to that genuine R&B/Hip-hop feel, as Ms. Hill revolutionized with all of her projects, with joints like “Business Man”. King also tears up this amazing cover of Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine” – absolutely amazing! Woah, check out these brand new photos of Amy Crackhouse and her partner-in-crack husband Blake Fielder-Civil! The fight apparently went down in the early hours of yesterday, and left Amy with blood staining her pink ballet shoes and the knees of her jeans. Purple bruises could be seen on the side of her neck and her knuckles were swollen. But Blake appeared to have come off a lot worse – with cuts and scratches on both cheeks and around his neck. Looks like she kicked his ass!
They have been holed up in a suite at a five-star hotel in Soho for the past three days after checking out of rehab for crack and heroin addiction. I swear they’re gonna kill each other if they don’t lose the crack! These two are on another level. Bobby and Whitney ain’t got nothing on them! They’re even past Ike & Tina status!!

Well damn! Today was obviously a big day for TRL. Folks like Alicia Keys, Keyshia Cole, Paula Deanda, and Bow Wow all came through to appear on the live countdown show. Alicia, for her new movie, Keyshia, for her new album, and Paula and Bow Wow performed their song “Easy” together. And Aly & AJ were guest hosts. Check out the rest of the flicks after the cut!
We haven’t had one of these in a minute! I know y’all probably have noticed that updates have been very few and VERY far in between. I just started back school on Monday of this week, and I’m still adjusting to my new daily routine. I’m still on my “summer sleep schedule” even though I have to wake up at 6:30 every morning to get ready for school, haha! But I’m going to take a really good rest Saturday, so next week, I’m going to be back in full force. Now, on to the links…
A couple nights ago Mr. West threw a party Mahiki nightclub in London, and he and Rihanna can be seen above leaving the club. Rihanna apparently didn’t have her pimpcane with her!
