New Details in the Sean Taylor Murder: Four Suspects in Custody » Funeral Held Monday in Florida
Police in Florida say they have more than one confession from four suspects (Venjah K. Hunte, 20; Eric Rivera Jr., 17; Jason Scott Mitchell, 17; and Charles Kendrick Lee Wardlow, 18) arrested Friday (Nov 30th) in the murder of NFL star Sean Taylor. Investigators think burglary was the motive in last Monday’s morning break-in at Taylor’s Miami-area home.
The suspects weren’t expecting Taylor to be home, said Miami-Dade police Director Robert Parker, but Taylor was recuperating from a knee injury and had returned home from Washington. Taylor died the following Tuesday of a gunshot wound to the leg.
The funeral for the football player was held Monday morning at an arena on the campus of Florida International University. According to The National Post, Taylor’s casket was surrounded by large bouquets of flowers and was placed in front of a large video screen which showed highlights from his playing career. Part of the bouquet was arranged in the design of a number 21, Taylor’s jersey number.
Several speakers addressed the crowd of mourners, including NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, Redskins coach Joe Gibbs, Redskins running back Clinton Portis and Reverend Jesse Jackson. “The NFL is proud of Sean Taylor, not just of his Pro Bowl ability,” Goodell said. “He loved football, and football loved him back. “But more important is what he was as a man and what he was becoming as a man, for lots of people here today – fans, family, admirers. He made an impact on all of us.”
Taylor was the first player drafted together by Gibbs and Redskins owner Daniel Snyder, who also was in attendance. “Over the four years, the thing that excited me most – it was about Sean’s life,” Gibbs said. “It was not about football. (It) was the maturing process in his life.” Portis, also a teammate of Taylor’s at the University of Miami, donned large sunglasses and spoke of the Pro Bowl safety’s ferocity and talent on the field.
Birdman (and crew) Arrested on Drug Charges
Weezy’s daddy was arrested last week for allegedly possessing marijuana and is facing a number of charges relating to possible gun offences. The “5 Star Stunna” [sorry y’all I had to, lol] was among 16 people detained in Kingsport, Tennesse last Tuesday. He was traveling in an RV when he was stopped by police for improperly changing lanes. A search of the vehicle revealed large amounts of marijuana. Baby’s wife, brother, and 13 other people were each charged with possession of the drug. Police also allegedly found several guns in the vehicle, but currently no charges relating to the find have been filed.
Now, back to this wife… It’s rumored that the girl pictured above (his wife) is only 18 years old, and her name is Brittany Williams. Looks like somebody’s been taking some pages from R Kelly’s statutory book of romance, eh? Head on over to TMZ to peep photos of the 14 other people who arrested along with Birdman and his wife. 46664 World AIDS Day Concert

Yesterday (Dec. 1st) was World AIDS Day, and the annual 46664 Aids Awareness concert sponsored by Nelson Mandela was held yesterday at Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa. Hip-Hop artist Ludacris, singer Corrine Bailey Rae, UK artist Jamelia, and supermodel Naomi Campbell all showed up to support the cause.
It looks like “Daylight” for Ms. Kelly!

Here is the Ms. Kelly’s new single, “Daylight,” featuring Gym Class Heroes. The song will officially release January 2008 of next year whilst the re-release of the Ms. Kelly (Columbia) album. This is a real interesting collaboration, one I would not really expect from Kelly – which is good, I like it a lot! “Daylight” has a nice, old school go-go feel to it and Kelly’s ad-libs are so stellar on this track. Wicked!
Movie Reviews: Beowulf
OK, so, I finally got to see Robert Zemeckis’ Beowulf this weekend at the movie theaters. I felt I just had to make up for missing Transformers, call me a sucker for fantasy, but it was nothing as I anticipated it to be. Beowulf, which stars Angelina Jolie opposite Ray Winstone, appeared set in a mediaeval atmosphere in accordance with the Old English and overall attire. The movie started off a tad bit vague for me, everything was bits and pieces until the ending; which grasped my mere forethoughts but only leaving a visible unclearness in the latter. It was still, nonetheless, a heart-ponding, havoc wreaking movie. I say, the moral of the story here is vanity has its downfall, meaning pride is a curse, being one of the 7 deadly sins and all. This seems as though the only conclusion I can come to culmination with. I really enjoyed scenes, though. The visuals, artistry, and definition were flawless, as Zemeckis’ films always are (Polar Express). 4.5/5
Ashlee Simpson says “Get Outta My Head!”
So, Ashlee Simpson premiered her new song, “Outta My Head,” produced by Timbaland on AOL Music recently (click the link below to here it). I really don’t know about this as a first single, I wasn’t feelin’ it, it might grow on me, though. I really wish she would’ve just released “I Get Away with It” becos that song’s wicked to me but only time will tell – I may like “Outta My Head” more once I hear the actual full to the song (which will be available for download exclusively on iTunes December 11).
Akon Charged in Fan Tossing Incident
According to People, police are slapping hip-hop star Akon with criminal charges after a fan said she suffered a concussion in an incident involving him throwing a fan off of the stage at a concert in Fishkill, NY. Akon is due in a Fishkill courtroom Monday to be arraigned on misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree harassment, the Associated Press reports.
During the summer concert, Akon threw an audience member from the stage into the crowd after a bottle was thrown at him. According to AP, the boy landed on another fan, Abby Rosa, who told the Poughkeepsie Journal that she suffered a concussion. I wonder if, and when, she’s gonna sue Akon since she “suffered a concussion.”
Lil Wayne and Lauren London Engaged?
It’s been reported exclusively by Bossip that Lil Wayne and Lauren London are currently engaged. The snitch told the popular gossip site: “they have been on and off for years and have had an open relationship. Lauren is very hood and likes thugs.” In the past, she’s been linked to T.I., Baron Davis, and Pharrell Williams. This is pretty new for me! I didn’t know Weezy was hittin’ that!! MTV’s Artist of The Week: M.I.A.
At first, I really could not believe it — M.I.A. artist of the week — dubbed by MTV. Weren’t they the ones who tried to get her banned though? Whatever the case, I’m really happy, becos she truly deserves the recognition. I believe she is one of the many underdogs of this industry, so you can’t even imagine how I felt about this. THIS is big for HER! M.I.A. is simply the shit, I cannot stress this enough, Doc.

Here R&B crooner Mario can be heard with Konvict’s own Akon in a nice, smooth R&B duet entitled “City.” The song, which features Akon, is an unreleased track from Mario’s latest album Go (J Records). This was an interesting collaboration for me, Akon rocks it, I’ll admit. I can see why this didn’t really make the album but still a great track and solid delivery from Mario nonetheless. Mario I find so flawless collaborating becos he meshes so well and seemingly effortless, it’s magical. There’s talk of a “Crying Out For Me” remix circulating – it’ll be interesting to know if there are any guest appearances involved.
Yeah, That’s Little “Bobbi Kristina” You’re Looking At!
Bobbi Kristina, daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, was photographed (see above) smoking with a friend. Well, I’ll tell you one thing. Judging by the candid snapshot above, she ain’t so “little” anymore! Guess how old she is! 18? Nah. 17? Lower. 16? Guess again. 15? Almost there. 14? Yes! Bobbi Kristina is only 14 years old and photos of her and a friend smoking weed are making their rounds across the ‘net. Monkey see, monkey do … right? EDIT: A lot of people are saying that she’s smoking “Hookah,” and not marijuana like I originally stated. Nevertheless, she’s too young to be doing ANY type of smoking.

This is Def Jam/Island Urban’s new artist Rocko. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Rocko is the first to venture out on Jermaine Dupri’s Island Urban Music, his new street single “Umma Do Me” is receiving nice airplay and reviews and I’m pretty sure I heard it going up there before.
Foxy Brown Released from Solitary Confinement
Our favorite Rykers inmate, Foxy Brown, was finally released from isolation! After a long and hard (for Foxy of course … we could care less lmao) 40 days in solitary confinement, good ol’ Inga is back in the general population.
The rapper, who is serving a year in jail for violating probation, recently received 76 days in punitive isolation for various offenses at the prison but served only 40 days on account of good behavior, TMZ.com and the New York Post are reporting. Brown, 28, still must serve out the rest of her prison term, which she earned after facing several assault charges in the past two years. Brown reportedly was sent to her own cell after what the Post described as a “bloody shoving match” with another inmate, as well as other violations. [ SOURCE: PEOPLE » ]
