Here’s the prelude: “In today’s music industry it’s a rare discovery to find a recording artist who truly epitomizes the word ‘Music’, but in R&B singer Casely that’s exactly what you’ll find. Throwback: Michael Jackson – “Another Part of Me” (Live)

“Another Part of Me” is just one of the few singles that broke the streak of #1 hits from the certified 8x platinum Bad album in 1988, chart-topping out at #11 on the Billboard charts after it was released. The video features live footage of the ‘Bad’ tour, the biggest selling world tour of the 80’s, bringing in an amazing revenue of over 124 million dollars citing Guiness Book Of World Records. I really love this clip, every time I watch I dance, it’s just full of energy! You really get the whole ‘concert experience’ from it. I bet the 70s/80s rocked at that time!

Gnarls Barkley – “Run”

Yes, new music from Gnarls Barkley, I was getting tired (not really) of listening to S.E.! Gnarls Barkley is one of my most favourite bands ever. I adore them, I do. It’s nice to hear all new material in hopes of a possible upcoming LP. Oh, I rejoice a drowned yay over the sounds of my taping of keys, I’m speaking as I’m typing. The song, “Run,” is so G.B., very uptempo and jubilant. I love it!

Video Premiere: Leona Lewis – ‘Bleeding Love’

Remember Leona Lewis? Her new video for the single ‘Bleeding Love’, shot by Jessey Terrero, recently premiered on Yahoo! Music and will be premiering on TRL today. I absolutely fell in love with this women’s voice on ‘Angel’ and now every time I hear her soothing vocals, I break! I wish Lewis the most abundance of success while debuting in the U.S.! Treat her kind, Jive! Btw, it looks like they shot this in Times Square – beautiful! I want to go to NY so bad.

Rihanna and Raven Symone are Named in Hollywood’s “Ten Most Powerful Girls”

rihanna-raven.jpg

US Magazine recently released a list of the top 10 most powerful girls in Hollywood, and R&B singer Rihanna and actress and Disney star Raven Symone snagged the 3rd and 9th spots, respectively. Rihanna’s “Umbrella” was the song of the summer, spending seven weeks at the top of the charts, but the singer says she’s not done yet: “I’m looking at getting into film, and I’m working on my own businesses.” Raven Symone, who has just launched Ravensymonepresents.com, has been dubbed the $400 million woman by Ebony for the estimated revenue her “That’s So Raven” show has brought Disney. Hot damn that’s a lot of dough! Peep the rest of the list after the cut.

Quote of the Day: “I’m Not a Nighttime Person.” – Clay Aiken

Quote of the Day: “I’m Not a Nighttime Person.” - Clay Aiken

In a recent interview with New York Magazine, Clay Aiken revealed that he isn’t interested in dating anyone (male or female), and that he doesn’t enjoy going out to bars and clubs. Why? Because he’s not a nighttime person…

“Let’s not fool ourselves,” he says with his eyebrows up in his arch, queeny way. “The truth is? There are people like Justin Timberlake, males who are cool on radio right now, and then there’s me. If I heard myself in a dance club? If I went into a dance club—which I never do—and I heard Clay Aiken come on, I’d roll my eyes and get out. But you know what? I’m fine with being kind of vanilla! It’s oh-kye!” In his book, Aiken says that it’s not just clubs but also bars he dislikes: “The only reason people go to bars is to get drunk and have sex. To me, bars are what hell is like.”

He imagines his social life here will be “nonexistent, really. I’m not a nighttime person.” He does not plan on dating, and he is not involved with anyone. “Heck, no,” he says. “My dogs.” He has never had a romantic relationship with anyone, unless you count the girls he took to dances back in high school in Raleigh. “I just don’t have an interest in … any of that at all. I have got too much on my plate,” he says. “I’d rather focus on one thing and do that when I can devote time to it, and right now, I just don’t have any desire.”

But Aiken is 29 years old and he is also a human. Surely he must have needs. Urges. He contemplates this in silence for 20 or 30 seconds. “Ah think maybe I don’t! I mean, not really. I’ve just kind of shut it off, maybe. Is that bad?”

So does that mean he’s asexual? Call me ignorant, but that’s the conclusion I’m drawing here. It’s not like he’s 10 years old and at that stage where “girls are icky and have cooties.” We’re talking about a grown ass man here! And based on the interview, NO ONE (neither guys nor women) appeal to him. I mean … somebody help me out here. I’m confused lol

Anyhow, catch Clay Aiken in his broadway debut in “Spamalot” from now up until May 4th.

GET YOUR 3-D GLASSES READY! » Hip-hop Emcee Missy Elliott and music video director Dave Meyers are doubling up once again to bring us yet another creative, artistic video with stellar 3-D effects and high-energy dance moves. But this time it will be for Elliott’s new single “Ching-A-Ling,” which recently made it’s peak position at number 39 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The song, being the latest single lifted from Step Up 2 the Streets soundtrack available in stores February 5th, also will be Elliott’s first single off her untitled album reportedly dropping the fifth quarter of this year. NAS ISN’T GETTING DROPPED! » Yeeeah … you know that rumor about Nas getting dropped by his Def Jam? Not true, according to Rolling Stone, a label-rep says to Rock Daily, “that is absolutely ridiculous and untrue.” These falsified claims first starting surfacing on the National Enquireresque-site MediaTakeOver, which quoted an “inside source,” stating, “If Nas doesn’t change his mind, he’ll be dropped. And he doesn’t have to much time to come to that realization.” The Emcee has been frequently in the media now leading up to the release of his forthcoming album Nigger. Now, you would think people would stop using gossip sites as resources, especially MeidaTakeOver of all mockery of gossip sites, but clearly they are still doing this.

Video Premieres: Jay-Z – “Pray” (Live) and OneRepublic – “Stop & Stare”

Here rapper/mogul Jay-Z can been seen, as well as heard, performing “Pray” live from the American Gangster tour. The video was directed by Jason Goldwatch. Love it, this was one of my favourite songs from the album.

Make Me a Supermodel Recap: “Sexual Chemistry”

I might as well start doing this like I have Boondocks, for everyone who may have missed any of the episodes. Tyson is starting to annoy me consistently alluding his sexuality on the show, we get it guy, you’re “straight”. On Frankie: he is a fracking jerk and I want him booted! On Ronnie: he did amazing! On Perry: he rocked it and soo desire to win this week! On Kathy: I love her, and I also want her to win! On Holly: I don’t want her eliminated just yet. On Ben: he needs to practice his walk, seriously.

[ thanks Ricky! ]

Video Premiere: Erykah Badu – “Honey”

Ooh, I like this! It’s very creative and I guess “honey” would be music of course! The video is obviously about local record stores dying and how you should support them! I love Blue Note, I wonder if that’s where she taped this? And is that Sa-Ra? I like how she parodies artist’s album covers in it! LOL! And omg – her Andre impression – I was rolling! I thought the monkey at the end was funnie, I forget where I seen that from, I think a commercial..

UPDATE: Ugh, can anyone guess the covers, the ones I personally picked up right away were Nas and The Beatles. I know, I’m too young -_-

Barack Obama Wins South Carolina!

Barack Obama Wins South Carolina!

Sorry I couldn’t get this up sooner. My internet connection has been acting up all weekend…

Not even two weeks ago, if you were to take a poll in South Carolina asking voters in the Democratic party who they would be voting for in the January 26th 2008 primary, HIllary Clinton probably would’ve had slightly more votes than Barack Obama. Over the past two weeks, that has dramatically changed! I don’t know if it was the comments regarding Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., or Bob Johnson showing us that he’s a living, breathing Uncle Ruckus, but something changed the black vote in South Carolina! Over 70% of the African American vote went to Barack Obama! And when it came to the entire state of SC, Senator Obama had well over 50% of the vote! I actually took part in this primary and casted my vote, so the results actually mean something to me. If you haven’t done so already, I’m not asking, I’M TELLING YOU to register to vote! You can’t participate in the primaries, but you’ll definitely be able to participate in the general election this November.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Senator Barack Obama won a commanding victory over Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton in the South Carolina Democratic primary on Saturday, drawing a wide majority of black support and one-quarter of white voters in a contest that sets the stage for a multistate fight for the party’s presidential nomination. In a bitter campaign here infused with discussions of race, Mr. Obama’s convincing victory puts him on equal footing with Mrs. Clinton — with two wins each in early-voting states — and gives him fresh momentum as the contest plunges into a nationwide battle over the next 10 days.

Former Senator John Edwards, a native of South Carolina who was trying to revive his candidacy, came in third place but vowed to keep his campaign alive, despite failing to win a single state so far. With 99 percent of the electoral precincts reporting, Mr. Obama had 55 percent of the vote, Mrs. Clinton had 27 percent, and Mr. Edwards had 18 percent. [ CLICK HERE FOR MORE! ]

Amy Winehouse Finally Checks Herself into Rehab

Amy Winehouse Finally Checks Herself into Rehab

To combat her obvious drug addiction, Amy Winehouse has finally decided to make the decision to check herself into a drug rehabilitation center. The announcement came just days after the 24-year-old singer was pictured in British tabloid The Sun inhaling fumes from a small pipe. Police have launched an inquiry into the matter.

“Amy decided to enter the facility today [Thursday, January 24th 2008] after talks with her record label, management, family and doctors,” Universal Music Group said in a statement. “She has come to understand that she requires specialist treatment to continue her ongoing recovery from drug addiction,” the statement said.

Winehouse plans on going through the whole rehab process, and has every intention of performing at the 50th annual Grammys this February. As much as I joke and poke fun of Amy, drug problems are pretty serious, and we’ve all seen what they lead to … death. No one deserves to die like that. So on behalf of T2W, I’d like to offer my support to Amy in hopes that she realizes that her life and career are very important, and doing drugs isn’t the answer to solve whatever she’s going through right now. Get well soon, Amy!
