Fantasia Barrino is wasting no time in making a return to the spotlight, just weeks after she tried to take her own life after word got out big time that she was creeping around with a married man she also allegedly made a sex tape with.
Last week, a woman named Paula Cook filed court documents citing an affair between Fantasia and her husband, Antwaun Cook. Paula even accused the two of recording that sexcapades together in the form of sex tapes during their affair. Shortly after, Fantasia put out a statement denying the accusations and not too long after that, it was reported that the American Idol winner had attempted suicide by overdosing on Aspirin and a sleep aid.
Now, just one week later, the R&B singer has released a statement confirming that she will press on with promoting her new album Back to Me, beginning with an appearance/performance on ABC’s “Good Morning America” next Tuesday (Aug 24), the same day the album drops.
Check out Fantasia’s statement and a snippet of her upcoming itinerary below…
“I can’t thank my fans enough for their prayers and support during such a challenging time. It has given me the motivation to get back to work …I put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this album and I pray that everyone enjoys it as much as I do.”
In addition to the Good Morning America appearance, Fantasia’s busy schedule over the next month or so will include stops at “Lopez Tonight” (Aug 25), BET’s “106 & Park” (Sep 8), “Live With Regis and Kelly” (Sep 9) and “The Wendy Williams Show” (Sep 10).
