Lil Wayne arriving at the New York Supreme Court - December 15th 2009

Rap star Lil Wayne and his Cash Money entourage went to the New York State Supreme Court earlier today (Dec 15) to attend his sentence hearing for those weapon charges, and the judge set the actual sentencing date to February 9th. The 27-year-old rapper was silent during the short hearing.

According to his lawyer Stacey Richman, he’ll be sentenced and will report to prison on the same day, which just so happens to be the week after his heavily delayed next album Rebirth drops.

In a bid to cut his jail time down, Wayne struck a plea deal with prosecutors in October after initially pleading not guilty. And get this: once he gets to jail, he has ANOTHER case to worry about! He’s due to stand trial in March 2010 on drug possession charges following an unrelated arrest in Arizona back in January 2008.
