Hey, Tumblr! Soulja Boy says he’s really sorry for showing you his penis. Will you accept his sincerest apologies? No? Okay.
Soulja Boy was forced to apologize to his fans after the rapper — whose claim to fame is a song about “supermanning that hoe” — accidentally posted a picture of his penis to his Tumblr page.
Upon noticing that his, erhm … “thing” … was all over the Internet, the 21-year-old quickly tried to turn back the hands of time and undo the damage that had already been done by deleting the picture, and offering up an apology. (You’re welcome for the edits for legibility.)
“I apologize to ever[yone who] seen that, [it was an] accident.”
But someone as social media savvy as Soulja Boy — one of the first people to become successful with the help of the Internet — should know that just because you delete a picture from the Internet, doesn’t mean it’s gone forever.
The point is to never have a picture worth deleting in the first place. Once it’s out there, it’s out there, and there’s no “delete” button for the hundreds (or even thousands) of people that right-clicked and saved as as soon as they saw the picture in their Tumblr dashboards.
Fortunately, the most graphic parts of Soulja Boy’s penis were out of the camera’s view — the only part you can see is his pubes and the lower part of the shaft.
