Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith are empty nesters. In an interview with Haute Living, Jada revealed that the couple’s two teenage children have moved out the house.
Jada says Jaden, 18, and Willow, 16, have moved out as they constantly travel across the globe while pursuing their own careers. Though it’s unclear if the siblings live together or apart, Jada says they still miss their childhood home.
“It’s funny, they’re not around, but they are! I don’t even have time to miss them! Willow loves to call me every day, and even Jaden, when he’s away on set, still needs to see Will and I when he gets homesick.”
Jaden and Willow have always seemed too grown wise beyond their years. But it’s still a little shocking to hear that a 16-year-old (in Willow’s case) is living on her own in LA. However, Willow believes she’s capable of maneuvering in the entertainment world thanks to the guidance of her parents.
Willow told Interview magazine last year:
“What my parents have given to me is not anything that has to do with money or success or anything that society says people should be focusing on – it’s something spiritual that only certain people can grasp and accept. And that’s how I act and move in the world today.”
All four of the Smiths are clearly busy with their own careers. No judgement on their parenting (OK, maybe a little), but at least Jada and Will check in and keep tabs on their teenage children quite regularly.
Jada is currently promoting her upcoming movie with Queen Latifah and Regina Hall, Girl’s Trip.
