Rich Homie Quan finally turned himself over to authorities today (April 8).
According to NBC Miami, the “Type of Way” rapper was booked this afternoon into a Miami-Dade county jail on a misdemeanor charge of simple battery.
Quan (real name: Dequantes Lamar) has been a wanted man after he allegedly beat up a bouncer for not allowing him in the VIP entrance at Liv nightclub in Miami.
A police report claims Quan punched the guard twice in the face, breaking his nose and bloodying his lip before fleeing the scene on a speedboat.
Quan recently told TMZ he’s innocent and was on a yacht during the time he’s said to have attacked the bouncer.
So far no word on how long RHQ will be in custody, but his lawyer did tell reporters that he’s 100% innocent.
“There’s a civil suit that’s been filed, it’s all about monetary gain, taking advantage of a celebrity and that’s the whole situation,” the rapper’s attorney Rick Corona said.
That’s why we’re here and the truth will come out. The truth will come out. Our client is innocent and the truth will come out…our client did not throw any punches and the truth will come out.”
