Lea Michele tearfully remember her late boyfriend and co-star Corey Monteith in a tearful speech at this year’s Teen Choice Awards.
The “Glee” star took to the stage at the typically light-hearted event on Sunday to accept an award for Favorite TV Actress. During her acceptance speech, she told the crowd how much the support she’s received has meant to her and recalled her admiration for the actor.
The star, who wore a necklace that said “Cory,” also dedicated her award to him.
“Not that I had any doubt before, but you guys are most certainly the greatest fans in the world and I wanted to dedicate this award to Cory,” she said. “For all of you out there who loved and admired Cory as much as I did, I promise that with your love we’re going to get through this together.
“He was very special to me and also to the world. We were very lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile, and his beautiful, beautiful heart. So whether you knew him personally or just as Finn Hudson, Cory reached out and he became a part of all of our hearts and that’s where he will stay forever.”
Monteith was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room in July. The 31-year-old who had been open about his battle with addiction in the past, was killed by a combination of heroin and alcohol.
