I have not a single interest in watching the upcoming season of Basketball Wives. Why? Well, I don’t care for Shaunie O’Neal anymore and I definitely don’t see it for Evelyn Lozada or Tami Roman. I never, ever enjoyed Suzie Ketchum. And since those are the only cast members left, I’d rather not even bother.

Still, in a new interview with Sister 2 Sister, Shaunie says the canning of original cast members Royce Reed and Jennifer Williams along with others like Kenya Bell and Kesha Nichols was “necessary.”

Shaunie explains:

“Some of the exits were necessary, just because it wasn’t clicking anymore. It’s hard to continue filming with people that you just have nothing else to talk about or nothing in common with, or that relationship has withered away,” Shaunie explained to Sister 2 Sister without naming names.

Royce was the cast member doing her own thing as a former NBA dancer, women of whom most “wives” are not fond, but Jennifer was definitely “in the circle.”

“You have other people that situations made it bad and situations made your friendship different…[things] that are out of your control. I hate to see those moments happen,” she said. “That’s not a great way to see somebody go. I wish some people could have stayed and made it work.”

Last season, there were eight cast members including newcomers, Kenya Bell and Kesha Nichols. Neither is returning. With Jen and Royce gone, only three original cast members remain: Suzie Ketcham, Evelyn Lozada and Shaunie. Tami Roman, who first signed on for season 2 of the show, will also be back.

Unlike Kenya, Kesha and Meeka Claxton who were also introduced to “BBW” fans after season 1 and ultimately left the show, Tami is still hanging in there.

“Well, Tami’s personality is …it’s incredible. You love her, hate her, whatever. You can’t live without some part of Tami on ‘Basketball Wives,’” said Shaunie. “She just brings so much to the show… There’s still something about her that drives you to watching.”

Girl, goodbye. Y’all can have the mean girls of Miami. I’ll spend my Monday nights waiting on season three of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.
