If you needed proof that Justin Timberlake is getting a little too complacent in his role as the new King of Pop, look no further than his lazy Chinese takeout video for “Take Back the Night.”

Look, JT has a leg up on us. His music is in demand and he knows that pretty much whatever he throws out there will get lapped up. So he figures, why bother with a music video treatment, choreography and a fancy concept for his new single “Take Back the Night?”

In a two-for-one move, Justin decided it’d be a good idea to film his video where he picked up his late dinner. You want fried or steamed rice with that?

The cool, easy-going, MJ-inspired “Take Back the Night” deserved better than a tour video with some lazy two-stepping for Egg Drop Soup. Suddenly, that “Suit & Tie” video is looking like an Oscar-contender compared to this Blair Witch of a video.

I really, really miss the days when JT gave us dope choreography (“Rock Your Body“), a storyline (“Cry Me a River“) and cinematic suspense (“What Goes Around“).

This lackluster clip job really isn’t a good look to kick off his ‘The 20/20 Experience Part II’ album
