Emily Kraus and her boyfriend were on their way to see Dave Matthews Band perform live in concert Saturday night in Hershey, Pennsylvania when they spotted someone who looked like Dave Matthews himself stuck on the side of the road with a flat bike tire.

As it turns out, it was actually the REAL Dave Matthews, in the flesh, and after realizing who the hell it was, Emily and her boyfriend pulled over and helped the DMB frontman, who was stranded without a cell phone, put his bike into a rack on their car. How convenient!

Emily wrote in a comment on Facebook:

“He was out for a ride before the show and his back tire popped, lucky for my parents just recently gave me their bike rack! SO amazing, incredible opportunity! He’s such a humbled man, so grateful for our help (my boyfriend is the one who “spotted” him)!”

After Emily’s boyfriend hitched the superstar’s bike to the rack, he got into the car and rode with them to the concert.

To express his gratitude for their kindness, Dave Matthews invited the couple to a backstage VIP dinner and also gave them front-row tickets to the show and a mid-concert shout-out.

Matthews told the crowd at Hersheypark Stadium:

“I didn’t have a cell phone on the bicycle, so I thought ‘Shit!’ … And then a nice lady named Emily rode up in a red car with a bicycle rack on it and gave me a ride to the gig.”

The day after the concert, when Emily woke up, she wondered if what had happened to her the night before was all a dream. But then she noticed the concert tickets Matthews had signed, saying “Thanks for the ride!” and realized that it really did happen.

“OK, yeah, that really happened yesterday,” she said. “It was surreal, we couldn’t believe it.”
