Jay-Z may be someone’s daddy, but he’s not Rihanna‘s. He said as much in an interview recently, explaining that although Rihanna, who is his artist on his Roc Nation label, has been reportedly partying too much and doing the absolute most, it’s not his place to tell her how to lead her life. He’s willing to give her advice though, but only if she comes to him.
He explains:
“That’s not my place …” he told Hot 97 DJ Angie Martinez in an interview. “I can’t control the outcome of her life.” He insisted, “I can’t intervene. I can give advice when asked, and that’s it. I can provide information and then life has to play out. Life has to happen.”
In other words, if you bought a ticket to a Rihanna concert, you’re still trying your luck with the event starting on time or at all. May the force be with you. Always.
