Ashanti’s singing career has been nothing but an uphill battle for relevance, record sales and respect for the past few years. And this ratchet, patch-quilt, gold-dusted aluminum foil catsuit that looks like it was assembled with material from Hancock Fabrics is just one more fail in a string of countless missteps.
For the past 2 years or so, Ashanti has been hard at work trying to launch this album called ‘Braveheart.‘ Every single she’s put out so far has flopped, but the girl is persistent, so she’s tryin’ it one mo’ ‘gain with this boring ass song called “Never Should Have,” which she performed recently at a concert in Las Vegas.
What she “never should have” done though, is slipped herself into this nightmare of a catsuit for her performance. Ashanti’s body is definitely on one, but this outfit looks like a rejected alternate costume for Kitana from Mortal Kombat.
Actually, it has Compton High School Homecoming-after party written all over it. It’s ratchet and Ashanti knows it.
The lace pattern, combined with the elastic rope over her breasts and the gold patches are giving me flashbacks of Halle Berry’s B.A.P.S.
Just say no to home-made fashion.
