Even though country music is the top-selling genre in recorded music, Taylor Swift has her eyes set on the greener pastures of pop. She’s been flirting with country-pop for a while, but her latest single, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” is pop music with a full hard-on.
And Taylor tried her best to put on a Lady Gaga-inspired performance of the song at the Grammys.
Dressed as a ringleader and assisted by an army of stunt performers, Taylor Swift proved capable of hiring and staffing a major-league production worthy of a bonafide superstar.
Unfortunately, she was “light as a feather, stiff as a board.” It was like watching Olive Oyl put on a show after studying a few Beyonce concert DVDs.
Nice try, Taylor, but stay in your lane until you can play with the big girls (and boys) of pop.
