Well, Frank Ocean ALMOST had a Cinderella story at the 2013 Grammys. His critically acclaimed debut album ‘Channel Orange’ took home the Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album, and he snagged another one for his feature on Jay-Z and Kanye West‘s “No Church in the Wild.” But when it came time for his solo spotlight, Frank fumbled things a bit.

Visually, Frank put together a spectacle that rivals Kanye. Using gigantic video screens, Frank made it look like his legs were moving the entire time, even though he was really just standing still.

But the vocals didn’t prove so sharp. In fact, you could say they were rather flat. More than a few fans and observers noticed.

And Frank tweeted the word “deaf,” which could be taken in two ways. 1) He’s saying the listeners are deaf and that he sounded great or 2) His in-ear audio wasn’t working so he was essentially singing “deaf.”
