Following the sudden and unexplained departures of Tia Mowry and Pooch Hall from BET‘s hit dramedy “The Game,” the network has confirmed that actress Lauren London has joined the cast of the show.

Though BET hasn’t officially revealed what part London will be playing on the show, it is assumed that the her role will be similar to Tia Mowry’s “Melanie Barnett Davis” character.

Last month, TheYBF.com reported that the former “ATL” and “90210” actress had landed the lead female role on the show and said that she will be playing a girl named Kiera, a former child star who has a job on a popular sitcom.

The website also revealed that actor Jay Ellis (“Hart of Dixie,” “NCIS”) would be taking on the new lead male role — Bryce “The Blueprint” Westwood (aka Blue), a star running back from the Ivy League who rubs some of the Sabers the wrong way … but so far, BET has yet to confirm that.

Returning for the upcoming sixth season of “The Game” are Wendy Raquel Robinson, Coby Bell, Hosea Chachez, Brandy Norwood and Barry A. Floyd.
