Internet sensation Rebecca Black, and her mother Georgina Marquez Kelly, are planning to sue the very company that produced her viral hit song “Friday” over unlawful exploitation of publicity rights and copyright infringement.

The 13-year-old’s lawyer has contacted vanity production company Ark Music, stating that they failed to provide Black and her family with the master recording of the track, which was paid for up front.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Ark Music founder Patrice Wilson shot down the allegations:

“She will get the masters and the song. They can have it all”.

The video was premiered on YouTube last month and has reportedly received over 80 million hits since then.
