From Danity Kane to Diddy-Dirty Money, Dawn Richard has put in the work and is now ready to spread her wings and fly solo.
The 27-year-old singer/songwriter is planning on releasing her very own first solo album in the Fall of 2011 under Bad Boy/Interscope Records, which will be a follow-up to a mixtape that she debuted on Valentine’s Day called #ATellTaleHeart.
Dawn commented on her upcoming album and recent mixtape:
“I’ve been incredibly lucky to have been in two amazing groups, but I feel like I’ve never had the opportunity to show the world what I can do on my own. Prelude to a Tell Tale Heart is the soundtrack to my heart. It’s soulful, it’s raw, it’s real,” she stated in a press release.
Prior to her album release, she will be going on the “Coming Home” Tour with Diddy-Dirty Money beginning in Minneapolis on April 13th. The group is also scheduled to perform on American Idol tonight (Thu. Mar 10).
