Singers Jennifer Hudson, Christina Aguilera, Yolanda Adams, Florence Welch (from Florence & the Machine) and Martina McBride opened up the 2011 Grammy Awards with a touching tribute to legendary R&B singer Aretha Franklin.
The ladies performed renditions of a few of Queen of Soul’s songs, including “Natural Woman,” “Ain’t No Way,” “Until YOu Come Back to Me,” “Think,” “Respect” and “Sisters Are Doin’ It for Themselves.”
Though Ms. Franklin couldn’t make it to the show, she did appear in a pre-recorded segment from her home in Detroit, MI where she thanked the performers and wished everyone good luck.
