Remember “Ginger,” the crazy purse lady who tried (and #FAILED) to disarm the gunman in the Panama City school board shooting video we posted earlier this week? Well, she’s become somewhat of a celebrity since then, and now, it’s being reported that the famous handbag that almost made her lose her life is up for auction on eBay!

The purse used by Bay District School Board member Ginger Littleton in an attempt to disarm a gunman Tuesday has been cleaned out of personal possessions and will be auctioned on eBay. Proceeds from the auction by WJHG-TV will go to the Salvage Santa project headed by Mike Jones, the school district’s security chief credited with saving the lives of the board members.

Jones has spent countless hours rebuilding and repairing hundreds of bicycles for local children each year for the past 30 years. “The idea was suggested to me and I thought it was a great idea,” Littleton said of the auction. “I just left the Nelson Building, and my purse has been cleaned out and I have my things in one of those boxes that reams of paper come in. It’s very classy.”

The purse was too heavy for Littleton’s 89-year-old mother-in-law, who passed it on to her. Littleton has been toting the purse for about a month, replacing a canvas bag she normally used to carry her belongings and board book.

Littleton used the heavy purse in an attempt to knock the gun out of the hand of Clay Duke. She joked the box that now holds the former contents of her purse “is heavy, but it’s very hard to swing. I hope they get me a better purse,” she added. “It’s going to get old carrying this box around.” (Source)

Glad that purse of hers finally did some good…..because what she originally tried to do with it was EXTREMELY stupid and VERY dangerous!
