Another day, another celebrity divorce…
After two years of marriage, actress Scarlett Johansson and her actor husband Ryan Reynolds are calling it quits and have officially gone their separate ways. Releasing a joint-statement, the couple said:
“After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage,” the couple said. “We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”
An unnamed source tells People that Johansson, currently on vacation with some of her girlfriends, initiated the split, and has already started looking for an apartment in New York City. Scarlett Johansson (26) and Ryan Reynolds (34) have been married since September 2008 following a private ceremony at a wilderness retreat in Vancouver, Reynolds’ hometown. No photos or details about the ceremony were ever released, as the couple has always tried to maintain the privacy of their relationship.
Ryan Reynolds was recently named People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive,” and Scarlett Johansson was named GQ Magazine’s “Babe of the Year” the very same week.
