It looks as though “Glee” picked the right song when they chose to remake Katy Perry‘s “Teenage Dream” recently. The show’s rendition of the song is going to debut big on the Billboard charts next week, making history as the single-best sales week for a “Glee” single ever! Full story is below…

Industry experts say that the track (released Tuesday) is on course to sell over 150K digital downloads by the end of the week (Sun. Nov 14). According to Columbia Records, the distributors for “Glee’s” music, the track sold over 55K copies its first day of release via iTunes (the highest first-day sales ever for a “Glee” track).

The “Teenage Dream” re-make could be the second top 10 single for the cast, who have racked up 89 Hot 100 hits already including their first top 10 single, a re-make of Journey‘s “Don’t Stop Believin.”

“Teenage Dream” will be included on the upcoming album Glee: The Music, Volume 4, due out November 30th, 2 weeks after their Christmas album drops on November 16th.
