Jay-Z signed Rihanna to Def Jam 5 years ago and now, the Pop/R&B singer is officially a part of Jay-Z’s Roc Nation entertainment company!

According to reports, Rihanna has dumped her manager Marc Jordan in favor of being managed by Roc Nation, just weeks ahead of the release of her fifth studio album Loud (due in stores next month).

“I’m so excited to take this next step in my career,” Rihanna said via statement.

Back in 2005 when Jay-Z was president of Def Jam, he signed Rihanna to the label, acted as her mentor and kick-started her career in a major way just 2 years later by guest starring on her “Umbrella” track, which received worldwide success. The pair also collaborated again last year on Jay-Z’s “Run This Town,” which also featured Ri’s labelmate Kanye West. Both tracks earned Grammy awards for the entertainers.

The Bajan singer has also announced that she’s forming her own company, Rihanna Entertainment, to administer all aspects of her brand, including music, fashion, films, a fragrance line, book ventures, and whatever else may come up in the future.

Rihanna’s new album Loud is slated for a November 12th release.
