Their single “Deuces” is currently holding down the top spot on the Billboard urban radio charts and is in the top 30 of the Hot 100 chart. And now BFFs Chris Brown and Tyga are planning on hitting the road together!
Tyga attributes the success of “Deuces” (which comes from he and Chris’ “Fan of a Fan” mixtape) to the fans and reveals that it was Chris Brown’s idea to do a video for the fan favorite track:
“That was actually Chris’ idea,” Tyga told MTV. “I thought the record was dope. I thought it was dope for us to do that video. He got to explain his situation. It connects to his fans. His fans miss that from him. “I think the people chose the record,” Tyga added. “We put the mixtape out, and we asked them: What record do you like the most? They was like, ‘Deuces.’ It was always coming up. It was growing on YouTube as well, like 100,000 views a day on YouTube. It was his idea to shoot the video. My homie Colin Tilly, he’s done all my videos. He’s done everything. All my mixtape stuff to the bigger stuff I’m doing now. He got it right. It’s what people wanna see, what they wanna hear.”
Even though the song is doing fairly well on the radio and on U.S. singles charts, Tyga says he doesn’t want people to experience Chris Brown/Tyga overkill, so while the pair won’t be joining forces for a full-fledged album, Chris and the Young Money rapper do have plans to go on tour together in the very near future.
“I don’t think you wanna drown people too much,” Tyga said about making a full album with Brown. “We’ve been doing a lot of stuff, though. He’s on my album. We’re actually working on a tour right now. A Fan of Fan Tour at the end of the year. It’ll be dope.”
We agree! Chris Brown and Tyga are definitely a dynamic duo and we can’t wait to see them take their acts on the road.
