According to Hits Daily Double, Drake‘s debut album Thank Me Later has sold 462,989 units during the first week, which puts him 37,011 albums short of hitting Gold status. Most people were hoping that his album would reach Gold in its first week of release, but it didn’t quite make it. On the bright side, his album will likely be the biggest debut of the year.

Just imagine what would have happened if his album didn’t leak or even leaked just 1 week before the official release. But Drake said himself he wasn’t to worried about the numbers. Overall his main goal was to put out good music; nothing more, nothing less. Here’s what he recently told The Life Files:

“I always said if I had put out an album that was poor quality and music that people didn’t enjoy, then I think the leaks would hurt me. Because a lot of the feedback has been great. The word of mouth, music is something that is to be enjoyed. I think it can help me so, June 15th.”
