Despite “Over” being on heavy rotation on the radio and steadily climbing up the Billboard Hot 100, Drake says rap superstar Jay-Z didn’t like the cut originally. In a recent e-mail to Drake, Jay-Z described to the Young Money rapper how the song grew on him, comparing it to a girl in the club who isn’t particularly the cutest… but is still sexy:
“I got a funny e-mail today from Jay-Z about [‘Over’],” Drake said during a conference call for DJs. The Toronto lyricist said Jay offered an analogy to describe the way the track grew on him. He compared the song to “the girl you see at the club, she’s not the cutest,” Drake explained. “But then you speak to her and realize that she’s one of the sexiest women of all time.”

“Over” is currently sitting at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100, up four spots from last week.
