Rapper DMX (real name: Earl Simmons) was sentenced to six months in prison this week for violating his probation. He’s been behind bars since early March when he was arrested after he confessed to his PO that he was still smoking crack.

Dr. Drew Pinsky, from VH1’s Celebrity Rehab, asked the judge to let him treat the rapper on his show instead. DMX’s attorney says the rapper might be up for that, but nothing’s been confirmed just yet.

“He’s been battling addiction for some time and he’s in need of treatment. We’re hoping that maybe Dr. Drew might be able to help him,” says DMX’s attorney Gary Jenkins.
