If one former Alaskan governor has her way, she just may be the next person, and the first woman, to become President of these here United States. One way to increase your profile on the road to the presidency? Become a national figure with daily visibility.

Sarah Palin has joined Fox News as a contributor and in her first statement, in an article from FoxNews.com, Palin shows her bright mind for objectivity and brilliance.

“I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News,” she said. “It’s wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news.”

Apparently Sarah’s either grossly unfamiliar with her new role (which would be oddly reminiscent of her last try at a new job), or Middle America’s favorite wink and nodder defines the words “fair” and “balanced” a little differently than our friends at Webster’s — or Dictionary.com — or any other place that is respected for, you know, making sense. Palin’s new deal with FOX News will see her join the ranks of not only their cable news network, but also Fox Business Channel, FoxNews.com & Fox News Radio.

Whether you’re laden with love, hate or indifference with the Republicans’ new poster child for (insert problematic agenda here), there’s no denying Sarah is making the right moves to get the attention needed to get more and more people on the Palin Express that’ll soon be hitting a presidential campaign trail near you. Hopefully, Palin’s train will end up on her famed “Bridge to Nowhere.”

But don’t sleep, Palin hasn’t always had the best track record when it comes to intelligent conversation, or in depth interviews. Oh, or policy debates, foreign policy issues, or naming publications she reads.

Catch Palin’s first appearance on the channel Tuesday night with fellow Fair & Balancer Bill O’Reilly. It will be, without question, great for Palin.

President Obama, watch out, another election season is swiftly approaching and contenders are on their way to the ring!
