It was recently announced that rapper Jay-Z and pop singer Lady Gaga will join the line-up of performers for the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Jay-Z, nominated for “Best Male Video” and “Best Hip Hop Video” for his “DO.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)” music video will hit the stage to perform a song from his highly anticipated forthcoming album, The Blueprint 3. Additionally, Lady Gaga, nominated for 9 moonmen herself, is sure to please the crowd when she performs a single from her multi-platinum debut album, The Fame.
“I’m simply gutted to be both a performer and nominee at the 2009 VMAs,” Gaga said. “In fact, I’m so happy, I could die.”
The annual show, hosted by Russell Brand, will air live on Sunday, September 13th 2009 at 9 PM. Additional performers and presenters will be announced soon!
