Nick CannonNick Cannon must have gotten tired of the warmth of Mariah Carey‘s bosom, so he’s decided to take on a new gig! According to a report published by Reuters, NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” has enrolled the rapping, acting comedian to replace Jerry Springer as the host of the television show. Cannon will begin hosting the show this summer when it returns for its fourth running season.

Cannon is the third host for “Talent,” which launched in 2006 with Regis Philbin at the helm. Springer bowed out last week.

The hosting gig is part of deal Cannon that involves unspecified future projects at NBC. He brings a younger face to “Talent,” whose celebrity judges are Sharon Osbourne, Piers Morgan and David Hasselhoff. Though “Talent” is the most-watched show in the summer among total viewers, NBC wouldn’t mind boosting its numbers among the key adults 18-49 demographic.
