Rev. Al Sharpton’s ex-wife and daughter were reportedly arrested Friday night (Oct 31) for resisting arrest after speeding past a patrol car and running through a red light in the Harlem district of New York City. Kathy Jordan and her daughter Dominique Sharpton were pulled over around 7:30 that evening.
When police issued a ticket for the small traffic violation the two women’s attitude and mouths become vulgar toward the policeman. Dominique and her mother argued that they were only trying to get around the slow moving patrol car. Sources report Dominique, who was driving, argued against the order and she and her mother were collared for disorderly conduct and obstruction of governmental administration. The two ladies were given desk appearance tickets and were allowed to go home.
“How what was apparently a minor traffic dispute ended up with two arrests with desk appearance tickets is highly questionable and unusual,” Michael A. Hardy (Sharpton’s lawyer) said. “Reverend Sharpton has been made aware of the details of the matter and will aggressively support his daughter and her mother, despite their announced change of marital status in 2003.”
Al Sharpton and his now ex wife divorced back in 2003 after 23 years of marriage. They have two adult children, Dominique (23) and Ashley (22). Dominique currently works for her dad’s Harlem based company, National Action Network.

LisaRaye has responded to the rumors of her getting it in with Rev. Al Sharpton to get in good with politics saying that they are absolutely not true. Her rep stated that the actress, known for wearing white 24/7/365, and the famous political figure are part of a White House educational tour, of which politician Newt Gingrich is also a part of.
Rumors sparked when the pair started showing up at events together all of a sudden, and TheYBF put up a story Tuesday (Sep 29) reporting that the two were indeed a couple, citing an anonymous source who just so happened to be a major industry publicist. But what made the story seem to true was the fact that both of them are going through divorces right now, so the opportunity just really seemed to set itself up.
Here’s what we know: A few weeks ago our source (a MAJOR publicist in the industry who shall remain nameless) told us that Al and LisaRaye–both barely divorced–are indeed together now. When we asked the obligatory “WTF?! Why?” The answer is because Lisa knows she’s not getting into any of these “society and political” events without a man who could bring her along. She’s also starved for media attention–surprise surprise–so Al is her “In” into that world. And Al–well he’s just happy to say he can have a chick that looks like LisaRaye on his arm and whose perm looks better than his. The two have been confusingly spotted at a few events together like the NAACP Image Awards and Michael Jackson’s memorial services…

But according to S2S Magazine, that story isn’t true. Al and Lisa both contacted the magazine, dispelling them and giving their two cents.
LisaRaye told us that she and Al are part of a White House educational tour, which also features Newt Gingrich. Both LisaRaye and Al are going through divorces now, but as for rumors of their coupledom, Al told S2S publisher Jaime Foster Brown that he thinks it’s one of the most ridiculous things he’s ever heard.
“I went on an 80-city tour with Hillary Clinton and nobody ever accused me of sleeping with her,” Al pointed out.

But then again, that could be a cover up. Who knows? One thing we do know is stories like these aren’t very rare. Need we remind you of Whitney Houston and Ray J?

It looks like Rev. Al Sharpton had no idea that Chris Brown was scheduled to perform at Sunday (Jun 28) night’s BET Awards. In this video posted to MTV.com, the activist can be seen denouncing the rumors that he had something to do with Brown being bumped with the performance line-up.
I didn’t even know Chris Brown was supposed to be there, less knowing saying anything against him. I think that is absurd … Last time I checked, BET doesn’t check with me on their lineup.

Since the CNN interview with Jackson family patriarch Joe Jackson on the red carpet of the BET Awards surfaced, several media outlets have attacked him and his behavior, saying that he is showing no respect for his son by promoting his plugging his new record label. Since then, Al Sharpton and Joe held a press conference regarding the situation in an attempt to rectify the situation and clear up a few things. Continue reading to check it out.

“They’ll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill,” is what one of the officers in the editorial cartoon above say after shooting a chimpanzee three times in the chest/abdomen. The chimpanzee is laying in the grass, obviously dead, with blood surrounding its body. This piece of sh*t, illustrated by cartoonist Sean Delonas, was published on the New York Posts‘ website and in the print version of the popular news publication.
But wait, President Barack Obama just signed a stimulus bill into action, didn’t he? He sure did. So does that mean the New York Post is racist? It sure does. And Rev. Al Sharpton thinks so too! Below is a statement he released earlier today:
“The cartoon in today’s New York Post is troubling at best given the historic racist attacks of African-Americans as being synonymous with monkeys. One has to question whether the cartoonist is making a less than casual reference to this when in the cartoon they have police saying after shooting a chimpanzee that “Now they will have to find someone else to write the stimulus bill.”
“Being that the stimulus bill has been the first legislative victory of President Barack Obama (the first African American president) and has become synonymous with him it is not a reach to wonder are they inferring that a monkey wrote the last bill?”
This horribly offensive cartoon also comes just two days after a 200 pound pet chimpanzee was shot to death by police officers after the animal suddenly attacked a family friend, ripping half of her face off. Doctors say it took 7 hours of surgery to stabilize the victim. What do you think about the cartoon? Is it really that offensive or are people reading into it too much? We say it’s F*****G OFFENSIVE!
