The once red-hot “Basketball Wives” franchise is starting to show a few chinks in its armor.

Maybe it’s the backlash from Tami Roman‘s bullying last season or Evelyn Lozada‘s martial implosion, but it seems that people are just no longer interested in the activities of the ex-wifes, almost-fiancees, jump-offs and/or baby-mamas of the NBA.

Could it be that America has finally decided to ditch the lowbrow and opt for more elevated television offerings?

Bitch, please.

It’s more like people are getting their fill of ratchet from “Chrissy & Mr. Jones” and “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta”

Our friends over at Rhymes with Snitch report that the ratings for BBWLA have been on a steep decline week over week. And that bears out, since last week’s episode barely cracked over a million viewers, according to TV by the Numbers. Last season, the show was averaging 2 million viewers per episode.

The ratings dip really doesn’t surprise us. If you’ve been following our recaps, this season has consisted of nothing but these worn out chicks meeting up for lunch, coffee and shopping excursions to talk about the same shit: Jackie Christie being crazy. It’s dumb, it’s boring and it’s one-note.

Don’t be surprised if the L.A. edition of “Basketball Wives” gets cancelled, or if the cast gets a much-needed refresh.
