If girl power died with the Spice Girls, then Alicia Keys is trying to revive it with her new single “Girl on Fire.”
Calling on her newfound gal pal Nicki Minaj, Alicia took to the stage at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards and belted her heart out as she wailed away about women’s inner strength.
And in a surprise display of real-life girl power, U.S. Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas made a cameo appearance, doing backflips on the stage to the delight of the crowd.
