Rebecca Black Doesn’t Understand Why People Don’t Like Her

April 24, 2011 by GOT Staff

Overnight YouTube sensation Rebecca Black simply doesn’t understand why anyone would hate  on her song “Friday,” which has provoked several death threats recently. Earlier this week, it was reported that police in Anaheim are investigating threatening phone and e-mail messages levied against the 13-year-old singer.

In an interview with Extra, Black told host Mario Lopez that she can’t comprehend what she has done to elicit violent reactions from the public.

“I think that’s kind of weird,” the singer commented. “It’s a song. It’s not like I ran for president and then I said something really bad… What did I do? I sang a song about a day.”

Preach on sister. It’s not like you pulled a “George Bush” and bankrupted an entire nation. Now THAT is someone who should be receiving threatening emails and phone calls. Not an innocent 13-year old.

hey, i love the this song. this is a great song, and i hope she continues singing. all the haters out there don’t know what music is. i have listened to AC/DC, green day, the beatles, rush, CCR, and linken park. i think this is a great song IMO. if she thinks everyone hates her, let her know that i do like her song. well, at least ONE person likes this song. let rebecca black know that out there somewhere, there is someone who likes her song.

wow…george bush may have ignited some problems in this country, but obama has only made them worse…thats change for ya! and rebecca black…its simply because we don’t like seeing people get popular for something they have no talent in. ok so you can sing…but you choose to use autotune anyways. and about 1,000,000 other kids have voices like yours, they just don’t have rich parents to buy a music video for them to be put into.

First of all, the fact that people actually like this song is a mockery to the world and to music everywhere.

Second, yeah, it was totally Bush that bankrupted the nation. He wanted to spend trillions to give people unconstitutional socialized government health care!

    Oh wait…

She Is a good singer having natural voice with good looking while she a teenager despite she sang like a mature and experienced singer . Those who don’t like her voice its their problem not her. Music fans must encourage her. If they don’t, they should go
Auto garrage for the emission of their ear. Any ways I like her voice and her mickey song as well.

  • Courtney Swindle

I dnt know why people is hating on her and threating to kill her over a music video tht is so dumb my whole family thinks she is a wonderful singer and even though there isnt a point in the song its just a fun song to listen too on a friday night with your buddys .

  • Courtney Swindle

@Courtney Swindle: she is really nice

  • David Rockingham

What an ignoroid you are. Omama has done more to destroy this country than any president in history, pal.

  • jamaylamay

What has the world come to. It’s the most idiotic song ever made. What is the big deal. Stop sticking up for her illiterate nonsense air headed excuse for a song just because she’s 13. It shouldn’t have ever been encouraged. Saturday comes after Friday comes after Sunday. WTH man. Damn music is going down the drain.

I cannot fathom why this young lady is getting stoned by the masses. But she rises out of the stones and receives threats of violence from a bunch of jealous, gutless babies, goalless without any idea of what it takes to take a chance to achieve their own ambitions. They have made Rebecca Black into a success by their own angst.

  • Johnaton

@n: actually if really cared to let go of your ignorance he’s made them better

  • Johnaton

@David Rockingham: are you aware of your biases

  • Jones

Stumbled across these comments while dropping a duece. A lot of you need to find better use of your time. Almost everyhing said was a logical fallacy. It certainly Ian the best but nor is it the worst.

Don’t really get why you included politics. Go outside and do something else with your time. From the looks of it you are not a happy bunch.

    Time to wipe…

Rebecca black has a good voice but her lyrics arn’t so good

  • SinisterTwist

I think it’s a mixture of a few things. The first is that quite simply, she can’t sing beyond a mediocre level. Even in the acoustic versions of the song she’s not very good. She’s gotten famous from a singing voice that’s mediocre at best and many are frustrated that they (both famous and non famous singers alike) have trained for years to have good voices and this girl gets famous for having a bad singing voice. On top of that she’s got mom and dad’s money to pay for everything, so on top of that you have people who are angry that Black’s parents bought her everything she’s got now and it doesn’t seem like she actually put any hard work into it at all. Some might be jealous that she’s got money, but it’s mostly because she got famous for the wrong things. This basically tells them that all of their hard work means nothing because parents with big wallets can just buy you a career. (No, I’m not a singer. I just like listening to music.)

Others will hate just for hating while others will squeal “I love this song” or “It’s not that bad” because they feel bad for her because she’s 13. There are a very few people who actually like the song but I’d number those people in the hundreds. Most are people just trying to be nice. I don’t like that people are posting such mean comments about her but that doesn’t mean that I think we should smile and pretend that the song is good. I’ve heard some 13 year olds who have good voices and Black is not one of them.

I have no problem with her being famous as long as she’s fully aware of the reasons behind many people disliking her singing and it’s not because they’re haters. It’s because they dislike how she got there and what she stands for.
