Chris Brown Asks Judge to Lift Rihanna Restraining Order

Chris Brown wants to get a little “closer” with his ex girlfriend Rihanna

The R&B singer appeared in an L.A. courtroom yesterday (Fri. Jan 28) for a probationary progress report hearing in the Rihanna domestic violence case. At the hearing, his attorney Mark Geragos asked the judge to remove the 5-year restraining order set in place 2 years ago when Brown pleaded guilty to assault charges.

Geragos expressed to Judge Schngegg how good his client has been doing over the past couple of years, having completed his court mandated 52-week domestic violence counseling sessions and nearly 600 hours of community labor (out of 1400 hours), and requested that the existing restraining order against Brown be removed.

“It makes it difficult at award shows and such,” Brown’s lawyer explained.

Unfortunately, the judge didn’t immediately grand the request, but did suggest a modification pending the approval of Rihanna’s attorney, David Etra, who Geragos phoned during a brief recess allowed by the judge. Etra said that he wanted to speak with his client before agreeing to the restraining order modification, which means that the decision to change it will have to be filed with the court at a later date.

Brown was praised (once again) by Judge Schnegg for staying on track with his probation and keeping up with his ongoing commitment to fulfilling the conditions of his probation. Schnegg was so pleased with Chris’ progress, that instead of scheduling a future hearing, she told him that his next one can be the “next time you’re in town.”

Chris Brown will remain on probation until 2014.

Domestic violence will never end as long as the whole truth about it is misrepresented to comply with feminist ideology. V.P. Biden recently called violence against women, “the very worst abuse.” The very worst abuse is valuing one life less than another for having been born the wrong gender. Under domestic violence law, the wrong gender is men. Shelter and services are virtually non-existent for male victims of domestic violence. Options out of a bad relationship, that women have, are often not available to men. Men wind up gender profiled and falsely accused by the taxpayer funded, domestic violence industry, because of gender feminist ideology controlling the d.v. industry. Men are often battered by domestic violence, and then battered again by the taxpayer funded, domestic violence industry as shown in “Los Misandry” at Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAmOxvudpF8

Well I hope Ms. Fenty and Her Lawyer agree on their request. 2011 Will be a good year for Chris Brown and I hope to see him at award show in the future.

Chris Brown shouldn’t be let off easy just because of award shows he wants to go to. I think he needs to pay the full price and learn a lesson, he made the choice to use violence and now he needs to learn. Great that he is paying his dues but what makes him more specail then the average joe that abuses. Doesnt matter what your career its about the crime you commit, he should be lucky he didnt get jail time. Chris deal with it. If you cant make it award shows then maybe you will learn your lesson and never do it again

Another thug….Beating up a girl….wow, what a man……It makes me long for the ‘wild west’ days when justice was swift and expedient…..His desires would be irrelevant….he would be irrelevant, except to the vultures…. for a few days….
It seems that these days, the inmates run the asylum, as long as they have money.

I think that it shouldn’t be up to a judge. If Rihanna feels okay with it, then fine. But if she isn’t even given the chance to weigh in and not want the restraining order lifted, then he shouldn’t be let off so easily. He chose to use violence against her, and in this case, she still has a voice (he didn’t take as far as to kill her… It very well could have escalated to that in the worst case scenario), so it really should be up to her whether or not she feels safe enough to have the order lifted. He shouldn’t be able to just ask for it and get it. Let her weigh in on it.

The only person who should decide if the restraining order should be lifted or modified is Rihanna as she was the victim of his physical abuse.

He’s concerned about going to award shows??? Why is he even being invited to award shows??

Everyone forgets that it was Rihanna who hit him first with her shoe behind his head,he like anyother male just reacted spontaneously,so come on Judge give him a break.

  • Man

Uh guys it is up to Rihanna if it gets lifted. The judge said it’s up to Rihanna’s lawyer and Rihanna’s lawyer said he’ll ask his client (Rihanna)
