Mel Gibson‘s rumored cameo appearance in the upcoming “Hangover” sequel was confirmed earlier this week by the actor’s good friend Jodie Foster! Extra caught up with Foster on the red carpet of Elle’s 17th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute event and the actress told them that Gibson really loved the first “Hangover” movie and she’s happy for him.

“He really liked the humor in that first movie so I’m glad he’ll be in it!” Foster also reiterated her support of her “incredible and loyal friend” who she admitted is going through a “rough time,” but she believes his talent will prevail. “He is incredibly loved by everyone that’s ever come into contact with him or works with him. He is truly the most loved man in the film business, so, hopefully that stands for something.” (Source)

As we previously reported, Mel Gibson is set to play a wacky tattoo artist in “Hangover 2” in his first role since being dumped by his agent earlier this year. According to sources close to the film’s production, Gibson’s character will be much like Tom Cruise’s Les Grossman character from the hit comedy flick “Tropic Thunder.”

Filming for “The Hangover 2” begins in a couple weeks!!
