All great things must come to an end, right?

Actress Amanda Bynes announced her retirement from acting to the world via Twitter Saturday (Jun 19). According to the former Nickelodeon star, it’s hard to keep doing something you don’t love.

“I’ve never written the movies and TV shows I’ve been apart of. I’ve only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play. Being an actress isn’t as fun as it may seem. If I don’t love something anymore, I stop doing it. I don’t love acting anymore, so I’ve stopped doing it. I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first I’ve retired… I wanna thank my dad for his words of wisdom!!!! ‘the truth will set you free’ one of his phrases I will never forget!!!”

Amanda will be starring in her last film “Easy A” which is set to hit theaters September 17th.
