THE 2007 BET AWARDS: THE PERFORMANCES – Ciara, James Brown Tribute, and The Encore!!

Ciara performs “Like A Boy / That’s Right” at the ‘07 BET Awards Ciara performs “Like A Boy / That’s Right” at the ‘07 BET Awards Ciara performs “Like A Boy / That’s Right” at the ‘07 BET Awards Ciara performs “Like A Boy / That’s Right” at the ‘07 BET Awards

Ciara definitely brought it! She never dissapoints on stage. The vocals weren’t as good as I would have hoped them to, but that’s not what most people like about her. She gets an A for effort as far as that goes. But home girl can dance her ass off and put on a show! But her live voice is improving I might add. She performed “Like A Boy” and went into “That’s Right” – which I personally think should be the next single instead of “Can’t Leave ‘Em Alone.” But if she wants to be with HER BOO, then let her be…

THE 2007 BET AWARDS: THE PERFORMANCES – Robin Thicke, The Gerald Levert Tribute, 50 Cent, and The Diana Ross Tribute!!

Robin Thicke’s performance would have alright if I wasn’t tired of that damn song! Urgh, I was really hoping he’d do “Can You Believe.” But it’s all good. White boy still did his thing and represented…

THE 2007 BET AWARDS: THE PERFORMANCES – Diddy, Keyshia Cole & Lil Kim, Beyonce, and Kelly Rowland & Eve!!

Diddy, Keyshia Cole, and Lil Kim performing “Last Night” at the ‘07 BET Awards

I ain’t gon lie, when “Last Night” came out, I was wtf-in for a minute! But after some time, it got stuck in my head and I grew to love it. Now you know Diddy always brings it (visually at least) with his performances. I can’t say I was too pleased though. The visuals were great, but home boy just didn’t deliver too well. Is it that hard to sing live? He already sounds horrible singing on the track, so hearing him “belt” out the lyrics live wouldn’t hurt … that bad. But Keyshia Cole did her thing, and Lil Kim showed out too … so I can’t really complain!!

Finally after many hours of searching, downloading, and uploading … here are the performance photos! The show opened up with an amazing performance of “And I’m Telling You” by our present Dreamgirl, and our past Dreamgirl. I’m talking about Jennifer Hudson & Jennifer Holliday here! They did really good together. A major step-up from THIS performance … y’all know what I’m talking about!!

Usher and Tameka Are Having a Bay-Bay-Bay!

Usher and Tameka Are Having a Bay-Bay-Bay!

For the few (very few) that wonder if Usher and Tameka do the nasty, then today’s story might make your day! Before today, the fact of them having sex has been nothing more than pure speculation … but Usher announced earlier today that he and his home boy fiancee Tameka Foster are expecting their first child together!

“We are extremely excited at this point in our lives planning our wedding and the joy that comes with expecting our first child together,” the couple said in a statement released to The Associated Press. “We hope people will be happy for us and respect our privacy during this happy period in our lives.”

The baby is due in the fall, according to a representative for Usher. This would be the first child for him, and the fourth for the recently divorced Foster. This is shaping up to be a busy year for Usher. Besides his marriage and a baby, he is expected to release the follow-up to his eight-million selling, Grammy-winning album “Confessions,” released in 2005. He also has a fragrance due out in September. Uhh, congratulations … I guess? Tameka has some strong ass features. I’ve never seen the other chillun, but I hope they take more from the Raymond side of the family. I’m just sayin! I didn’t know men could give birth anyhow…

Black Star Power was in full force last night in Los Angeles as the 2007 BET Awards – the biggest night in black entertainment! No matter how much trash some folks talk, BET still delivers with their annual award show! Here are a few photos from the red carpet of the biggest black stars arriving to the show. You can find close to 100 (yeah that’s right one HUNDRED) photos after the cut!! PERFORMANCE PHOTOS TO FOLLOW!

Video Premiere: Common – “The People”

[dailymotion 1BxX4yfruUF2Cgvk0]

COMMON – “THE PEOPLE” » Wow, how in heck did I forget about this video? I absolutely love this song! This is one of Common’s brand new singles lifted from the anticipated album Finding Forever; the track, “The People,” produced by Kanye West. But forreal this is quality music, because of Common and his extraordinary talent, there is still hope for us all. If you ain’t feelin this then I rebuke you in the name of Hip Hop.

Yep, you heard right! “Cut It Out” featuring Pimp C and Sean P (YoungBloodZ) is set to be the first single from Nelly’s brand new upcoming fifth studio album, the Prelude, set to be released later Fall of this year. Rumored producers included to be featured on the project are Jazze Pha, JD, and the Neptunes. Man, this track is going hard! By the way, all of this shit is excluuusive!

ALBUM REVIEW: KELLY ROWLAND – MS. KELLY

Ms. Kelly, appropriately titled name of Kelly Rowland’s sophomore album, hits stores on July 3rd so BUY, BUY, BUY, BUY. I have to admit I wasn’t too keen about the project and “change” overall. I really loved her last album, Simply Deep, maybe because I’m into a lot of alternative R&B music. When I first heard she was doing something different and was keeping away from that genre I cringed. In my opinion, back then of course, was that she would stick to her original sound because it was her; although seasons do change and there will be some “creative differences” in the mix, I’m actually glad she went this route with Ms. Kelly, the title in itself is sassy and makes a bold statement. You already know what your getting as soon as the album starts off with the single “Like This,” “Comeback,” “Ghetto,” and “Work” just to name a few; all very aggressive and in your face, she has definitely grown over the duration of her career. The album sort of smooths out a little in the end with “Flashback,” “Every Thought is You,” “The Show,” (damn Kelly Freeaky!) “Love,” “Better Without You,” all of which are my favorites! I completely see Kelly in a whole new light now, I got a taste of her world, both emotionally and respectfully. I think this is kind of like a testimonial for Ms. Kelly really, but a celebration with her fans; almost to say, “you know what, I moved on and I’m living my life.” and that’s absolutely beautiful – I highly recommend you buy this album!

Video Premiere: Kanye West – “Stronger”

[dailymotion 5BmGzHSUOVDOdgQ1l]

KANYE WEST – “STRONGER” » Yes, Kanye is alive and kickin’ with his latest single, “Stronger,” featuring Draft Punk lifted from his forthcoming LP Graduation. I automatically dug this joint when I first heard the snippet and knew he was sampling from Draft Punk. The video is everything I expected it to be (Kanye, I’m a steal them shades!), fortunately! It’s very futuristic and vibrant; obviously filmed in the great Japan. Hey, I even have to give it up to Cassie for doing her thing in the video too – she looks great! I guess she’s still in the lime light after all.

THE 2007 BET AWARDS: VIEWERS’ CHOICE AND BEST FEMALE R&B

BEST FEMALE R&B: BEYONCE
NOMINEES: MARY J BLIGE » JENNIFER HUDSON » CIARA

She took home the first award AND the last award – I’m talking about my boo Beyonce! She grabbed the final award of the night for BEST FEMALE R&B ARTIST in addition to her previous win for Video of the Year. I didn’t really expect her to take the VIEWER’S CHOICE, but I didn’t expect Birdman & Lil’ Wayne to either! Don’t get me wrong, Weezy is one of my favorite rappers, but I could’ve sworn Chris Brown & Bow Wow had that category on lock! I thought the teeny boppers were gonna take over on this one. Anyhow, this concludes my commentary on tonight’s wins (and losses) but if you check back later on today, you’ll be able to read up on what I thought about the show. It’s 2 AM, and I’m ready to take my ass to bed. SEE YA WHEN THE SUN COMES UP! We have GOT to do this again next year =P

THE 2007 BET AWARDS: BET JAZZ COOL LIKE THAT, BEST FEMALE ATHLETE, BEST MALE ATHLETE, AND BEST GOSPEL ARTIST

BET JAZZ COOL LIKE THAT: GERALD LEVERT
NOMINEES: MUSIQ SOULCHILD » ERIC ROBERSON » ELISABETH WITHERS » BRIAN MCKNIGHT

The next set of winners unfortunately didn’t get any camera time. The show ran over and didn’t have enough time to formally announce them, so these awards were announced before a commercial break. The BET JAZZ COOL LIKE THAT award was rightfully given to the late Gerald Levert – rest in peace, and BEST FEMALE ATHLETE was given to (you already know) Serena Williams, whom I must add, HAS BEEN LOOKING GOOD lately! Definite upgrade from that picture with her and The Grinch at the top of this current layout. BEST MALE ATHLETE went to *yawn* Lebron James – I can’t stand that dude, or his team. I’m glad the Spurs took home the win for this year’s NBA Playoffs. I personally believe my homeboy Dwayne Wade deserved the award, or even Tiger Woods … but Lebron James? Ah well, can’t cry over spilled milk. Anyhow, the award for BEST GOSPEL ARTIST went to Kirk Franklin, who seems to win everything now-a-days, but I ain’t mad atcha Kirk! HERO is still in heavy rotation on my iPod. Good album!! THE LAST SET OF AWARDS WILL BE UP IN A BIT … HOLD TIGHT!

THE 2007 BET AWARDS: BEST COLLABORATION, BEST MALE R&B, AND BEST NEW ARTIST

BEST COLLABORATION: LUDACRIS & MARY J BLIGE - RUNAWAY LOVE
NOMINEES: DIDDY & KEYSHIA COLE – “LAST NIGHT” » BEYONCE & JAY-Z – UPGRADE U » BEYONCE & JAY-Z – DEJA VU » AKON & SNOOP DOGG – I WANNA LOVE YOU

Not a boring moment yet! BET stepped it up this year and lived up to past shows. I’m proud of my people! Anyhow, the next set of awards that were presented were BEST COLLABORATION, BEST MALE R&B ARTIST, AND BEST NEW ARTIST. A lot of people thought that since Beyonce & Jay-Z were nominated twice they would automatically take the cake. Diddy & Keyshia and Snoop & Akon had no chance. But in the end, Ludacris & Mary J Blige took home the award for Best Collaboration with their powerful message-song “Runaway Love.” I’m happy with that. My boy Ne-Yo took home the award for Best Male R&B artist, and Jennifer Hudson walked away with her second trophy of the night for Best New Artist – Homegirl doesn’t even have an album out yet! But when you think about it, the other folk in that category were no comptetion … let’s be real now. MORE UPDATES TO COME … DON’T MOVE!

THE 2007 BET AWARDS: BEST ACTOR, BEST ACTRESS, AND BEST HIP-HOP ARTIST

BEST HIP-HOP ARTIST: T.I.
NOMINEES: LIL WAYNE » DIDDY » JAY-Z » LUDACRIS

The next three awards that were presented were BEST ACTOR, BEST ACTRESS, and BEST HIP-HOP ARTIST!! I agree with all of the winners for these three categories: Jennifer Hudson took home Best Actress, Wonky Eye aka Forest Whitaker won Best Actor, and my favorite rapper T.I. grabbed Best Hip-Hop Artist! When T.I. accepted his award, he apologized on behalf of his other half, T.I.P. for his unruly actions at that party Sunday night. Way-to-go T.I.! More updates to follow. I THOUGHT I TOLD YA THAT WE WON’T STOP!

THE 2007 BET AWARDS: VIDEO OF THE YEAR & BEST GROUP

VIDEO OF THE YEAR - BEYONCE
NOMINEES: “BEAUTIFUL LIAR” – BEYONCE F/ SHAKIRA » “CRAZY” – GNARLES BARKLEY » “I WANNA LOVE YOU” – AKON F/ SNOOP DOGG » “LIKE A BOY” – CIARA

So far so good! The show has been on for about an hour now and so many artists have taken the stage and have blown me away with their performances. So far, only 5 awards have been given out, and I’m going to highlight 2 of them! VIDEO OF THE YEAR & BEST GROUP! Video of the year was won by Beyonce’s Irreplaceable, and Best Group was won by Gnarles Barkley, who couldn’t show up to the show. I’m really glad Beyonce won for Irreplaceable, for *ahem* OBVIOUS REASONS, but Irreplaceable was a good video too! Stay clicked on Think2wice for more exclusive coverage. WE’RE DOING IT BIG Y’ALL!!

Boy, times sure does fly when you’re having fun making fun of people rotting away in jail. In a way I’m glad this broad is out of jail. Now people can go back to their normal lives. I was getting tired of turning to major news networks like CNN and NBC only to see them talking about how many times Paris farted in her “cold, lonely” cell. Now people can move on … or will they?

It’s Official: Paris Hilton is FREE!

Anyhow, ring the alarm, Paris Hilton is free! She was released shortly after midnight (Cali time of course) and her folks waited for her outside in their SUV for about an hour before she joined them to return home. TMZ is reporting that “Law enforcement sources said that Paris has lost nearly 10 pounds during her stay and that on her way out of jail, she stopped to change clothes in a public restroom that ‘smells rancid.'” How awful! But no matter what, I will NEVER forget that photo of her punk ass crying when she was ordered back to jail after being released on house arrest!!
