Platinum-selling rapper, Aaliyah ghost whisperer, and H-Tine impostor Drake leads this year’s list of nominees for the 2013 BET Awards.
The Chris Brown hating Canadian racked up an impressive 12 nods, including ones for video of the year three times over, as well as recognition in the Best Male Hip Hop Artist and Best Collaboration categories. This is the part where you Drake fans sing “no new friends, no new friends” and do that awkward bop he does on stage.
Meanwhile, other nominees include Tamar Braxton, who netted two nominations for her hit debut single “Love and War.”
There are some surprises, too, like Rasheeda getting a nomination as Best Female Hip Hop Artist. It took me a hot second to figure out why and for what, but I’m guessing it’s for that God-awful song about marrying her?
Beyoncé got a nomination, too, though as much as I love Queen Motha, what did she put out last year? Then again, does it even matter? It’s Beyoncé!
That said, check out the full list of nominees:
