While “We Found Love” went with a cinematic, narrative approach, Rihanna decides to go for something a bit more abstract with her new video for “Diamonds.”
The video, directed by Anthony Mandler, has Rihanna floating in water, watching horses in the wild west and standing in the middle of a crowd. Oh, and she’s also losing the grip of a man with a very tattooed arm. (Hint: Chris Brown)
Which is sort of weird, since “Diamonds” seems to be an ode to their ever-lasting love. So does this mean Rihanna’s saying good-bye or is she just reliving their break-up experience?
