Kelly Rowland has teamed up with Bacardi to celebrate the company’s 150th anniversary with the release of a new song called “Summer Dreaming,” a remake of Kate Yanahi‘s 90’s hit single “Summer Dreaming (The Bacardi Song),” which reportedly topped the German music charts over a decade ago.

Under the direction of Annick Wolfer, Kelly’s new music video was shot in Barcelona in the Sant Andreu de Llavaneres area, and sees the star performing the track on a pier overlooking the Mediterranean sea.

The song itself will be released on July 8th when Kelly performs it in Berlin. “The song and its history enthralled me right away. My aim was to record a joyful, colorful, sexy song and give it a bit of soul quality,” she said.

Speaking on the video, Rowland said, “The story is all about the celebration. It’s almost like you’re seeing my dream come to life before your eyes and I wake up and I’m like, ‘I’m really dreaming!’”

Kelly is also working on her upcoming fourth studio album, which will be released sometime this year. “It’s a very urban, R&B, sexy, unexpected record. It’s gonna make you think. It’s gonna make you wonder,” she revealed.
