Actress/singer Miranda Cosgrove, star of the hit Nickelodeon comedy series “iCarly” was injured in a tour bus accident Thursday morning (Aug 11) in Illinois.
The 18-year-old suffered a broken ankle during the crash, which occurred on a highway just outside of Vandalia, Illinois.
“There were five passengers on the bus, and Miranda suffered a broken ankle,” Cosgrove’s rep said. “At the time, we are told everyone will be fine.”
According to police reports, Cosgrove’s tour bus ran into a tractor-trailer that had overturned on the road. Cosgrove and several other passengers (including the bus driver), the driver of the tractor-trailer and two pedestrians who had stopped to help, were all taken to a hospital after the crash.
Among the injured was Cosgrove’s mother, as reported by People magazine. She is expected to make a full recovery, but the bus driver is currently in critical condition.
Because of the accident and Miranda’s injuries, she has been forced to postpone her “Dancing Crazy Summer” tour, which just kicked off about a month ago, and was scheduled to hit several cities across the country until October.
“Her tour is postponed until further notice,” her rep said in a statement. “Miranda thanks everyone for their understanding and support.”
Get well soon Miranda!
