With nearly 300,000 copies sold on its first day of release, and over 1.1 million sold its first week in the U.S., “Born This Way” has debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart, making history as not only Lady Gaga’s first album ever to debut at the top spot, but also her first album ever to debut with over 1 million albums sold!
The album also debuted at #1 in the UK, also making history as the best debut week by a solo American female artist since 2005. BTW also debuted in the top spot in other parts of the world, including Australia, Austria, Brazil, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland and Taiwain.
Gaga, a 5-time Grammy winner with just three albums under her belt, is also experiencing success with her singles “Born This Way,” “Judas” and “Edge of Glory,” all of which have cracked the top 10 in markets all over the world.
