Looks like Ice Cube is following in the footsteps of Tyler Perry and has managed to lock down a deal to bring a sitcom version of his hit movie franchise, “Are We There Yet?” to TBS!
The new sitcom will debut on June 2nd and it is starring Terry Crews (“Everybody Hates Chris”) and Essence Atkins (“Half and Half” and “Smart Guy”) as Nick and Suzanne, a newly married couple who takes on the task of raising two teenage children in their untraditional family. Other notables in the new TBS sitcom include Thelma Hopkins (“Half and Half,” “Family Matters,” etc.) as Nick’s mother and Keesha Sharp (“Girlfriends,” “Everybody Hates Chris,” etc.) as Suzanne’s BFF. In addition to this, the new sitcom features reoccurring appearances from Ice Cube (as Suzanne’s brother) and comedian Christian Finnegan (as Nick’s best friend).
