With a theatrical introduction from actor/singer/dancer Elijah Kelly (you might remember him from “Hairspray”), pop star Lady Gaga and her idol Elton John opened up the 2010 Grammy Awards, held Sunday night (Jan 31) in Los Angeles at the Staples Center.
Gaga kicked off the night with a quick performance of “Poker Face” before a dancer tossed her into a fire pit. Seconds later she and Elton John appeared, both covered in smut and ashes, on either side of a large piano, and the duo sang a rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Speechless” with a few verses of Elton’s “Your Song” thrown into the mix.
