Football player Chris Henry, a wide receiver on NFL team the Cincinnati Bengals, died early this morning following a horrible incident with a pickup truck Wednesday afternoon (Dec 16).
When authorities arrived to the scene, the football player was in the middle of the road suffering from life threatening injuries to his head after falling out of a pickup truck his fiancee Loleini Tonga was driving. He was immediately sent to a local hospital where he passed away around 6:30 AM Thursday morning (Dec 17).
Henry, who hasn’t played for the Bengals since November due to an injury, reportedly jumped into the back of a moving pickup truck in a desperate attempt to stop his fiancee from leaving some sort of “domestic situation” at her parents’ North Carolina home. Tonga was questioned at the scene and was released. She was never taken into police custody and according to people on the scene, she had no visible injuries.
Authorities are still investigating the situation, including the possibility that Chris was thrown from the truck due to Loleina swerving back and forth.
